The Indigenous Food Sovereignty Program through the Urban Indigenous Education Centre was founded in 2019 by System Superintendent and Board Lead of Indigenous Education, Tanya Senk. It was developed with the support of the Elders Council and the Indigenous Education Office of the Ministry of Education, Ontario. Since then, TDSB has seen students thrive in this first-of-its-kind program that centres Indigenous food sovereignty and traditional foodways at three sites: UIEC and Kapapamahchakwew / Wandering Spirit School K-12, Native Learning Centre East 9 – 12, and Native Learning Centre Downtown K-12. Attendees of this webinar will learn how the Food Sovereignty Program centres Indigenous land-based learning and education, Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing, and the protection and promotion of Indigenous food systems.

. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
