Advisory Groups
The Â¥·ïÌìÌà (OISE) is Canada’s only all-graduate institute of teaching, learning and research in the field of education. Standing on the shoulders of a great University, OISE is committed to collaborating and partnering with the communities it serves, and welcomes the participation of members both internal and external to OISE on advisory groups and committees. Advisory bodies create bridges of understanding and enhance our relations with public and the broader education community.
OISE has three advisory groups that provide advice to the Dean and the OISE community, and present a forum for lively discussion on key directions and priorities for the Institute.
Indigenous Faculty Caucus
The Indigenous Faculty Caucus (IFC), formerly known as the Dean's Advisory Council on Indigenous Education (DACIE), was established in January 2017 following consultations with OISE's Indigenous faculty. The IFC meets on a monthly basis during the academic year to provide collective advice on Indigenous education initiatives.

The Caucus advises on initiatives to address anti-Black racism within the community, supports the advancement of Black faculty, students and staff, and champions Black excellence through impactful events and programs that strengthen our academic community.

OISE Climate Action Advisory Group
The mandate of OISE Climate Action Advisory Group is to provide advice to the Dean on a strategic plan that will embed sustainability and climate action into OISE’s work in teaching, research and advocacy. This supports the OISE Academic Plan that aims to position OISE as a community hub for Environmental and Sustainability Education, in part by modelling environmentally sustainable practices for the OISE community and beyond.
The result of this important work is OISE’s first Sustainability and Climate Action Plan, officially launched at a virtual event on Thursday, February 25, 2021.
